| Please describe your legal problem | I’ve been putting maintenance request in for 3 years about my wall in my daughter’s room. It finally collapsed three months ago. I’ve been asked three different time by maintenance if they can stop by, each time I said yes and asked them for a time. No one showed up. I’ve sent emails to my landlord and asked him to communicate because there is a lack of communication from him especially regarding repairs. The building inspector came out in June sent him a letter for my unit and two other unit. The foundation is shot here and it needs extensive repairs. He told me he will be back in 30 days. The building inspector gave them 90 days and showed up yesterday and said he was sending him a fine for the three units. The building inspector told me I should start looking to leave. I’ve been needing new windows for I don’t know how many years. My utilities are extremely high because of the windows and they can’t be weatherized. The wall in the back has gotten worse and the break wall is exposed and the paint is crumbling. I did not pay September’s rent because I was willing to take the money and get the wall fixed myself. I received a text from the landlord last night before 9PM saying he’s concerned about my account is everything okay. I’ve been sending him emails about my excessive repairs and no response. My daughter hasn’t been able to sleep in her room for three months because of the wall. I need to know what to do. Thank you! |
