My 33yr old daughter has anxiety, depression and she's bipolar. Her and her 3 children live with me, my 10yr old and husband, she was just released on an involuntary 96hr hold at BJC Mental health due to her coming at me with a very sharp pocket knife, threatening to set the house on fire with everyone in it, as well as threatening to start collecting body bags. She was released last Monday on the 9th even after I had to call them the Saturday before that letting them know that she had called still behaving manic and ranting. They couldn't keep her past that time against her will since I wasn't her guardian nor POA. Since then she doesn't take her medicine as prescribed and slowly getting back to the night of her last incident. I am seeking guardianship or POA to be able to insure her taking her medicine as well as to be able to hold her in a mental health hospital longer than another 96 hours if need be. I am trying to do whatever it takes to make sure that we all are safe and she get the best care needed.
