Zach grew up in the small town of Highland, Illinois. In high school, he enjoyed academics and played on the golf team. He moved to Bloomington-Normal, Illinois after high school to study for his undergraduate degree at Illinois State University. At ISU, Zach studied history along with political science and decided he wanted to pursue a career in law. He spent a couple years teaching history at the high school level before moving to Carbondale, Illinois in 2016 to pursue his Juris Doctor.

In law school, Zach served the university as a teaching aid for Contracts and Legal Writing courses. He was also a member of the Southern Illinois University Law Journal. During research for his law review article, Zach became keenly aware of the need for attorneys to represent clients with asbestos and other toxic exposure cases. With his passion for these types of cases, Zach sought to help develop a balanced approach to pleading toxic exposure claims in federal courts. During Zach’s second year in law school, the Journal selected his article, Insurmountable Burdens and Slippery Slopes: A Solution to Pleading Toxic Torts in the Plausibility Era for publication in the SIU Law Journal. Zach concluded his final year serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the SIU Law Journal. He also had the opportunity to serve as a judicial extern for Chief Justice Lloyd A. Karmeier of the Illinois Supreme Court shortly before he retired.

Upon obtaining his J.D., Zach pursued a career representing clients harmed by asbestos exposure. Since 2019, he has represented hundreds of plaintiffs from various union trade, construction, and commercial backgrounds. Zach especially enjoys helping military veterans who were exposed to asbestos. When he is not practicing law, Zach enjoys outdoor recreational activities and helping out on his wife’s family farm.
